Years before these images existed, Maxwell Alexander was wrestling with ideas about cosmic intelligence, design, and human consciousness. In 2018 he published an essay on the “Cosmic Intelligence of Design,” and from there his thoughts began to take shape—literally. Working by hand in white gypsum, a material chosen for its soft tactility and ability to hold minute details, he sculpted forms that were at once ancient and futuristic, personal and universal. He lined their interiors with gold leaf, a deliberate choice to infuse each piece with a sense of the eternal, connecting the earthly to the divine.
